Hello and welcome to FQ Driving Academy, a free online driving lesson and theory test resource for learner drivers across the UK.
Our goal is to support learner drivers of all ages and abilities with clear, practical, and trustworthy guides that improve confidence, knowledge, and road safety.
Why FQ Driving Academy
My name is Francis Quarm, and I’m the founder of FQ Driving Academy.
I qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2011 and ran FQ Driving Academy as an active driving school until 2017. During that time, I taught hundreds of learners, helping them prepare for both their driving tests and a lifetime of safe driving.
In 2017, I transitioned the business into a free learning resource, using my teaching experience to create lesson guides, test preparation materials, and practical tips that reflect both my personal knowledge as an instructor and official information from the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).
This site is built to be:
- Safe and reliable – all information is based on DVSA standards or my own experience as an ADI.
- Easy to use – simple guides, step-by-step lessons, and clear explanations.
- Supportive – designed to help nervous beginners as well as experienced drivers who want to refresh their skills.
