Driving Test Cancellations

DVSA Driving Test Cancellations

The DVSA announce driving test cancellations and services on September 19, 2022, as a result of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s tragic passing. At this difficult moment, thoughts are with His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family.

These driving test cancellations will not be isolated. Theory tests and driving instructor tests will also be affected on this day.

“We are suspending all but our most essential services on 19 September due to the Bank Holiday and State Funeral, allowing individuals, businesses and other organisations to pay their respects to Her Majesty. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of national mourning. “

“All theory tests have been suspended on 19 September 2022. We will be contacting all of your pupils who are affected to let them know how to choose a new date for their theory test.”

Driving Lessons

Driving instructors are not required to stop driving lessons during the current National Mourning. It is entirely up to instructors also, not to conduct driving lessons, particularly on the day of the State Funeral.

Practical Driving Tests Cancellations

The DVSA will notify students who have a practical driving test scheduled for September 19, 2022, that their test will be postponed. Driving tests will automatically be rescheduled on the earliest available date. Some driving instructors, who manage their student’s practical driving test bookings must inform them that it will not take place.

Theory Tests Cancellations

On September 19, 2022, all theory tests will be postponed. Everyone who is affected by these changes will be contacted so they can select a new date for their theory test.

ADI Part 2 and 3 Tests and Standards Checks

All ADI Part 2, Part 3, and standards checks will also be suspended on September 19, 2022. An announcement will be made at the earliest possible time, with a new test date in communications with all impacted instructors by the DVSA.

For ADI part 2 and part 3 tests, instructors can change their rescheduled test on GOV.UK. For standards checks, instructors can email standardschecks@dvsa.gov.uk.
